My name is Lisa and I’m a self-confessed book addict. I’ve lived in Hampshire in the South of England for 43 years, and love words and reading.
When I’m not at work or doing the housework, you’ll generally find me sat reading books. Or reading about books on Goodreads. Or scrolling through tonnes of crazy dogs and cats on Twitter. Or reading tweets about books. Or trying not to request ARC’s on NetGalley. I’ve also just recently joined Instagram.
I mainly read horror, psychological thrillers and historical fiction, but lately I’ve been getting into some non-fics, like true crime and the natural world. I also enjoy poetry, short storys and occasionally go for some light-hearted reads or humour.
I am always happy to receive books to review from authors, and try to schedule ‘read to reviews’ as a priority. Feel free to contact me if you’d like to send me an ARC, whether it’s an e-book or physical book. The pleasure is all mine. 😉 And I’m always open to reading most genres, not just the ones I’ve mentioned. Although I will draw the line at slushy romance and YA. Sorry!
My other passion is the coast and countryside. Off I go with my partner in crime and we walk. And walk. And walk. I absolutely love nature, particularly birds and trees. We pack a picnic, a flask of coffee, the binoculars and some wet weather gear, (this is England after all) and off we trot! It’s usually the only time I don’t have a book or kindle in my hand. Not only is it great for the mind, but also the body and soul. I have to do some kind of exercise, as I like food and red wine far too much! 🍷
Anyway, I’m one of those older ones who is trying to be all techy and stuff and start a blog. I’ll be honest though, I’m not finding it that easy, but I’m sure I’ll get there. Eventually!
